WellJourney Medicine welcomes all individuals who are seeking a collaborative relationship with their provider without the hassel of in-person visits. However, as a fully-virtual provider, we recognize that many conditions require regular in-person assessments and management to safely and effectively care for the patient. In many cases, membership with WellJourney can supplement existing insurance and providers and we will coordinate care with other providers as needed. If you have questions about whether virtual DPC is the right fit for you, or your situation, we encourage you to schedule a member consultation with one of our providers to discuss your circumstances. We are happy to counsel you on the considerations specific to your situation. At this time , we are not accepting patients who are also Medicare Fee-for-Service Beneficiaries; Patients with Medicare Advantage are eligible.

No. WellJourney Medicine does not accept insurance or bill insurance companies. However, we do accept HSA cards for payment (beginning January 2026) and can produce superbills for certain services that can be provided to you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Instead, we cover a range of care within our flat monthly membership packages. This means no co-pays, no deductibles, and no surprise bills for our patients. Any additional costs to monthly memberships will be discussed with the patient prior to completing the order (e.g., labs, imaging, prescriptions). Providers will work with patients to find the most effective and lowest cost option in these cases.

Membership with WellJourney Medicine is NOT an insurance plan. While our practice is designed to offer a full range of primary care services that cut down on referrals and potential-in office visits, we recommend all our members carry additional coverage (e.g., medical cost-sharing memberships or supplemental catastrophic insurance policies) to cover healthcare for incidents such as unexpected surgery, hospitalization, specialist referrals, ER visits, etc.
At this time, we are not accepting members who are also Medicare Fee-for-Service Beneficiaries; Patients with Medicare Advantage are eligible.

WellJourney Medicine providers will collaborate closely with patients to determine when an in-person visit is needed (e.g., emergency room, specialist). We encourage our members to contact us if there is any question about whether in-person care is needed. For more complex healthcare conditions or needs that arise, WellJourney providers may refer a member to see a specialist for in-person evaluation. We also recommend that women identify a provider that can be utilized for preventive women’s health exams (e.g., pap smears) to meet current guidelines on well woman exams. WellJourney can help members to identify low cost providers for these cases and will support the coordination of care as needed.
