FAQs

Answers to common questions

  • Well Journey Medicine welcomes all individuals who are seeking a close and collaborative provider relationship. However, as a fully virtual provider, we recognize that many conditions require in-person assessments and management to safely and effectively care for the patient. If you have questions about whether this is the right fit for you, or if this model is appropriate for your situation, we encourage you to schedule a meet and greet with one of our providers to discuss whether this is a fit for you. We reserve the right refuse membership to any individuals that require complex care management better suited for in-person management.

  • We founded WellJourney Medicine as a family-owned practice with the goal of providing quality care to members as if they were our own family members. All appointments are scheduled for a minimum of 30 minutes. We aim to deliver personalized, empathetic, transparent, affordable and convenient care to our members. Our members can expect to receive comprehensive personalized care through direct access to providers a predictable monthly fee.

  • We do not accept insurance. Instead, we cover a range of care within our flat monthly membership packages. This means no co-pays, no deductibles, and no surprise bills for our patients. Any additional costs to monthly memberships will be discussed with the patient prior to completing the order (e.g., labs, imaging, prescriptions). Providers will work with patients to find the most effective and lowest cost option in these cases.

  • WellJourney Medicine is not an insurance plan. While our practice is designed to offer a full range of primary care services that cut down on referrals and potential-in office visits, we do recommend all our patients carry medical cost-sharing memberships or insurance to cover unexpected surgery, hospitalization, specialist referrals, or ER visits.

  • A membership is not required for our acute care and medical consultation services (only cash accepted). Our direct primary care model requires membership for all other services as it is designed to promote health through an ongoing relationship between you and your provider.

  • Members save on wellness coaching packages and up to 95% on wholesale-priced labs and imaging. Additionally, we offer a Couples and Family Bundle discount. If you enroll as a member before December 2025 your join fee is waived.

  • WellJourney Medicine providers will collaborate closely with patients to determine when an in-person visit is needed (e.g., emergency room, specialist). We encourage our members to contact us if there is any question about whether in-person care is needed. For more complex healthcare conditions or needs that arise, WellJourney providers may refer a member to see a specialist for in-person evaluation. We also recommend that women identify a provider that can be utilized for preventive women’s health exams (e.g., pap smears) to meet current guidelines on well woman exams. WellJourney can help members to identify low cost providers for these cases and will support the coordination of care as needed.

  • At this time, we only provide services to patients in Georgia. However, there are plans to expand to additional states in the near future. Please let us know where you live and this will help us prioritize our expansion to areas with interested patients.

  • No. WellJourney Medicine does not accept insurance or bill insurance companies. However, we do accept HSA cards for payment and can produce superbills for certain services that can be provided to you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
