About Us
Our Story
At WellJourney Medicine, we believe healthcare should be personal, accessible, and affordable. We are a family-owned and operated Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice dedicated to preventing chronic disease and expanding access to quality primary care services.
Founded by a husband-and-wife team — a Medical Doctor and Nurse Practitioner — WellJourney Medicine was created out of a shared commitment to offer a better way to experience healthcare. With over 20 years of combined experience, we’ve seen firsthand how traditional, insurance-driven primary care often limits the time and attention patients deserve. We wanted to change that.
Why We Started WellJourney
In 2024, the American Medical Association reported that nearly 83 million Americans lacked access to a primary care provider. Rising insurance premiums, high deductibles, and limited coverage have made it harder for many people to find the care they need. We started WellJourney Medicine to be part of the solution — to give individuals and families a simple, affordable pathway to maintain their health without the barriers of traditional insurance.
Our Approach
Through the Direct Primary Care model, our patients become members of the WellJourney family— not just numbers. For one simple monthly fee, our members enjoy:
Longer, unhurried visits focused on their health goals
Direct communication with their provider
Transparent, affordable pricing
Virtual care options covering multiple geographic regions
Holistic mangament of acute and chronic disease with focused support on active prevention, chronic disease risk reduction, and longevity coaching
This approach allows us to focus on building lasting relationships and delivering the kind of personalized, whole-person care that helps you stay healthy and well.
Caring Like Family
As the healthcare professionals in our own families, we’ve always been the ones our loved ones turn to for advice, urgent care, and help navigating the complex healthcare system. Through WellJourney Medicine, we’re expanding that same level of care to our patients — treating every member as if they were part of our own family.
Because for us, caring for you isn’t just our profession — it’s our calling.
What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a healthcare model that focuses on building a stronger relationships between patients and their primary care provider. Instead of relying on traditional insurance, patients pay a flat monthly or annual memberhsip fee that covers most primary care services, including routine checkups, preventive care, and ongoing management of chronic conditions. This approach allows providers to spend more time with patients, offer same-day or next-day appointments, and provide more personalized, accessible, and affordable care without the barriers of copays or insurance billing.
